Absence Reporting

When reporting a student absence this must be done by someone with parental responsibility and also be a named contact for the individual. We ask that all absences are reported as early as possible before the start of the school day. Absences must be reported for each day a student is absent. Students cannot report their own absence.

Parents can report their child’s absence via the following emails, please do not use MCAS to report an absence.

Call 01733 715950 to report an absence and then select the appropriate house or year group.
Please leave a message with your name, your child’s full name and the reason for their absence.

Where possible, please ensure all appointments are arranged outside of school hours. In all cases, if your child needs to be absent from school a copy of your appointment card or confirmation of the appointment must be shown/sent to the relevant absence email address. Please tell us about your appointment as far in advance as possible as this may impact as to whether your child will be allocated time out of school. Without evidence of the appointment it is possible your child may receive an unauthorised absence.

Holiday Requests

The law does not grant parents an automatic right to take their child out of school during term time. Parents must apply in advance and must be for exceptional circumstances only. If you need to apply for a holiday, you must fill out an Absence Request Form which can be requested from your House Office or fill out the online ACADEMY TERM TIME ABSENCE REQUEST FORM FOR EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES which can be found here

The school will only consider requests from parents with parental responsibility.
