Transport

The only service that GPUTC offer support in organising is the Peterborough College Bus Service.

Should you choose an alternative transport service, the responsibility to find out the necessary information regarding this, i.e times and costs is that of the parent.

Below are the details and links for multiple public transport options are available to students which often offer cheaper prices and greater flexibility.

Whilst the Peterborough College bus service is an option (details below) we encourage our parents to explore a number of options before they make their decision. These are as follows:
TRAIN National Rail – https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
STAGECOACH Greater Peterborough – Spalding: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/
DELAINE Bourne – The Deepings – Peterborough – Spalding: https://www.delainebuses.com/
FIRST BUS Kings Lynn – Wisbech – Thorney: https://www.firstbus.co.uk/norfolk-suffolk
VECTARE Uppingham – Wansford – Castor – Peterborough: https://localbus.vectare.co.uk/

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority have also launched the Tiger Bus Pass offering fares for just £1 for those under 25! Please use this link for more information –

If for any reason the above alternative options do not offer what you are looking for, Peterborough College run a number of buses that we can access. We would like to inform you that this service is NOT a GPUTC service, but is a service aimed to transport Peterborough College students which we can have the opportunity to access if required.

This service is run according to their specific term dates and staff training days. Their terms dates can be found here – Peterborough College Term Dates – for ease of reference, alternatively you can visit their website for more information.

Peterborough College’s term dates will differ from those of GPUTC on occasion and during these times, it is the responsibility of the parents/carers to ensure that students can get to school. One of the most significant term time difference falls towards the end of the academic year where the College bus stops running on 26th June and the 3 week shortfall becomes the responsibility of parents/carers to ensure their child attends school.

Please use this link – https://www.peterborough.ac.uk/app/uploads/sites/2/2025/07/Transport-Guide_PC-SC_2025-26-1.pdf to access the Peterborough College Bus Routes and other transport information – Peterborough College Route Information. All buses leave the College at 4:50pm – students must arrives minutes before the buses are due to depart. The cost for this service will be £1400 per academic year from September for GPUTC students and is an annual cost irrespective of when you start or stop using the transport.

If you are awarded financial support from GPUTC, students are expected to maintain the national average attendance percentage as the funds provided are there to ensure students can access their education. GPUTC reserve the right to withdraw this funding.
